How do I protect myself from fraud in card transactions?
❶⠀Do not respond to requests to update your card details in a link received by email. We will never request such updates to card details. The requests come from people who collect this data and use it to fraudulently withdraw amounts from carta; 😇
❷⠀Notify us immediately as soon as you notice the card is missing, whether it was lost or stolen at our 24/7 Call Center, at 0264 594 337* - for any mobile networks or from abroad; 😲
❸⠀Request from us or configure yourself from the application BT Visual Help, calling the telephone number 0264 308 000, BT24 Internet & Mobile Banking or from BT Pay daily trading limits on the internet and at POS or ATM that help limit the amounts withdrawn from the card in case it is used without your consent; 🤓
❹⠀Consult periodically your account statement to detect any amounts you have not authorized, possibly asking us to activate your servicelAllarme SMS to be permanently informed of the transactions made with your card; 🕵
❺⠀When you shop online, try to choose only merchants enrolled in the Mastercard ID Check service; 🧐
❻⠀If you have any question regarding your card, know that you can block it very quickly. I have explained to you how you can do this within the question:„I lost my card. What is the first thing I need to do? ” . 😉
Other general recommendations:
➤⠀first of all do not keep the PIN in a form that is easily recognizable by other people (noted on the card, phone, on a paper, in an agenda etc.); 😬
➤⠀change the PIN for free on any ATM BT with one that is easy to remember (preferably, different from combinations of digits in the birth date); 😅
➤⠀be careful when entering the PIN at an ATM or at a POS so that it is not seen by other people around you; 👀
➤⠀do not lend your card to anyone and do not provide your card details to anyone. 🙅
