What is the contactless card?

Contactless technology is a payment method that allows the card to communicate with a POS or ATM terminal without physically touching it. 🏧

All you have to do is bring your contactless card close to the POS and the payment is made instantly, the number of contactless transactions being unlimited.

It is no longer necessary to insert the card into the POS, and for payments under 100 lei, you also do not need to enter the PIN code. 🔐

How do contactless payments work and what are their benefits?

At the moment, all cards issued / reissued by Banca Transilvania have built-in contactless technology. We specify that this technology is a basic feature of the cards issued by Banca Transilvania.  💳 

Each transaction is protected by a unique security code that cannot be reused for subsequent transactions.

Contactless transactions are processed through the same global network as standard transactions, so they benefit from the same security and anti-fraud protection systems. 🔒

Contactless payments can be made at any merchant in the country and abroad who displays the contactless symbol on the POS.

How much does it cost?

➤⠀Visa Classic BT ➭ issuance fee: 0 RON; administration fee: 0 RON / year;

➤⠀MasterCard World BT➭ issuance fee: 0 RON; administration fee: 0 RON / year;

➤⠀MasterCard Gold Debito➭ issuing fee: 50 RON / card; administration fee: 80 RON / year / card;

➤⠀Mastercard Direct➭issuance fee: 4 EURO/ card; administration fee: 3 EURO/ card / year.

Why are all the cards contactless?

At this moment, all BT cards are contactless because they allow everything to move more smoothly.

We can assure you that we have previously researched this type of payment and implemented it so that everything is very secure. 👍

It is a method even safer than paying with cash. Any transaction is recorded and in case a problem arises regarding your money, we can help you resolve it more efficiently.
