Can non-resident individuals open an account at BT?

Of course! If you are a non-resident citizen, for opening a current account, all you have to do is come for a visit to the bank, at any of the  our units. 😃

What documents do you need?

⠀Identity document:

  • If you are an EU/ EEA/ Swiss Confederation citizen, come with the passport or identity card issued by the country of residence.
  • If you are a non-EU citizen, come with your passport

You mention (your personal TIN/ NIF – Taxpayer identification number/ Fiscal identification number). It is issued by the Financial Administration in the country of residence regarding the confirmation of payment of taxes and duties – which helps you avoid double taxation. 😊

⠀The last items to check off are a few documents proving the domicile: a bank statement from a third bank – not older than 3 months; a utility bill – not older than 3 months; an address from a state institution showing the domicile; Driving license, if applicable).

⠀For students: proof that you are a student in Romania: certificate from the university or student card endorsed
