They receive a monthly average pension of about 1,586 lei, which is approximately 48% of the average salary in Romania, which is 3,321 lei. EFOR estimates that this percentage will gradually decrease as the number of elderly people increases and the number of active, employed people decreases. In 2032, this percentage will reach 34%, and in 2042, it will drop to 26%. 😮 Thus, if in over 22 years the average salary in Romania will be 6,363 lei (considering that the average salary increases annually at a rate of 3%), the average pension will be, according to EFOR's estimates, 1,654 lei, which is a bit higher than now.
