How do I know if I am a prosumer?
Prosumers are natural or legal persons who, according to Energy Law 123, produce electric energy from renewable sources for their own consumption and whose specific activity is not the production of electric energy. Electric energy suppliers are obliged to purchase the energy delivered by them either through compensation or through financial settlement:
- Quantitative compensation – the energy produced and delivered to the grid by prosumers who own systems with an installed power of up to 200kW per consumption site is done at a price identical to the price of the active electrical energy used by the supplier;
- Financial settlement - the energy produced and delivered to the grid by prosumers who own systems with installed power of over 200kW or a maximum of 400 kW per consumption location is done at the weighted average price recorded in the Market for the Next Day (PZU) corresponding to the month in which it was produced.
