What should I do if my account is blocked to unlock the due amounts?
It is good to know that the garnishment is established on the amounts from all bank accounts, present and those you will collect, up to the limit of the garnishment amount, so the amounts are automatically blocked for garnishment.
Amounts exempted from garnishment (the share due from salary rights, pension, child care allowance, allowances, scholarships granted by the state, per diems, special-purpose allowances, APIA/AFIR subsidies, etc.) can be unlocked either at your request or at the bank's initiative.
In case you have a credit line on the current account where you cash salaries/pensions/other income assimilated to salaries or you cash amounts such as allowances, scholarships granted by the state, per diems, special destination allowances, APIA/AFIR subsidies, the amounts exempted from garnishment will be unlocked at your request or at the bank's initiative in a separate sub-account opened by the bank in your name called Current account release of amounts.
The amounts collected in the Current Account release amounts can be withdrawn from any BT unit. If you want to use the amounts also for payments (at merchants, invoices, internet) and you do not have a card attached to this account, you can request the attachment of a debit card at any BT unit or through the Call Center Service at the telephone number 0264 308 000.
