What are alternative investment funds?

Alternative investment funds (FIA) sono collective investment vehicles which does not fit in the classic category of collective investment undertakings in transferable securities (UCITS). In other words, these are funds that invest in less traditional assets or use strategies different from ordinary funds.

According to the European definition, FIA include all investment funds that are not UCITS.
