What does CSALB do?
The Alternative Dispute Resolution Center in the Banking Sector or CSALB manages the infrastructure necessary for alternative dispute resolution through two types of procedures:
➤⠀procedure with proposed solution (Conciliation)
➤⠀procedure with imposed solution (Arbitration)
If the complaint has not been resolved directly with the financial-banking institution, the consumer can address CSALB.
Conciliators analyze the situation based on the documents provided by consumers and merchants and propose or impose a solution to the dispute. These may differ from a sentence obtained in courts of law that strictly apply legal provisions, because, in the case of SAL, conciliators can take into account commercial customs and general principles of law and can also resolve the dispute in equity.
