What are the countries in the SEPA area?
The states included in the SEPA area can be grouped into three categories so that they are easier to find, as follows:
❶⠀Euro area countries: that is Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and Slovenia;
❷⠀ States of the non-euro area: Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden and Great Britain;
❸⠀Member States of the European Economic Area (European Economic Area - EEA): Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland, and Monaco.
❗⠀Any payment made in the SEPA area, which meets the conditions, will be settled through a special system, without going through correspondent banks.
❗⠀SEPA will also expand to the following territories, considered part of the European Union (Art. 299 Treaty of Rome): Martinique, Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Reunion, Gibraltar, Azores, Madeira, Canary Islands, Ceuta and Melilla and the Åland Islands. 😃
