How do I know when the requested Direct Card is ready for me?

You will receive a confirmation SMS as soon as the card has been shipped to you.

Your card can be delivered:

  • through courier, if you requested card reissuance
  • through Post, if it is the initial card

The card is delivered inactive, so after you receive it and the PIN sent via SMS, call 021 308 4000, then press 0 and 1 to activate it. Our automated system will guide you step by step; you only need to select the "card activation" option, and the card will be activated within 30 minutes.

After activation and before first use, go to a BT ATM and perform a balance inquiry – this will also activate the contactless feature.
