What happens when I have a blocked amount on the Direct Card?
The blocked amount is a temporarily reserved sum that will be paid from your BT Direct card for various transactions. Essentially, the respective bank or merchant guarantees they will receive payment for the goods or services provided.
The settlement period for transactions made at other banks is a maximum of 30 days.
That is, within this period, the transaction will be settled automatically and will disappear from the “Blocked Amount” section, being effectively debited from the account.
Blocked amounts may come from various situations:
- installment payments made with the credit card, in which case the amount decreases monthly as the installments are paid;
- card transactions made at other banks' terminals, whether cash withdrawals from ATMs, payments at the merchant's POS, or online payments
