Are online transactions with the Direct Card limited?

Each BT Direct card has predefined transaction limits, including for cash withdrawals from ATMs.

With all BT Direct credit cards, you can make a maximum of 25 transactions per day.

You have a limit for:

  • cash withdrawal at ATM: 2,000 RON/day
  • Quasicash and Money Transfer* transactions: 2,000 lei/ day
  • credit card transactions (including ATM cash withdrawals, quasi-cash transactions, POS or online transactions): 25 transactions/day
  • credit card transactions at POS: 30,000 lei/day
  • credit card transactions on the internet (online): 15,000 lei/day
  • credit card transactions at POS + online payments: 30,000 lei/day

The following transactions are classified as quasi cash and money transfer: loading money into an account, card, or app; transferring money through and from an app where you have registered the Direct Card; online transactions for the purpose of money transfer or trading; sports betting; purchasing casino chips; and lottery tickets. These categories of transactions are treated as cash withdrawals and are charged the corresponding commission and interest calculated from the first day they are made.
