How do I activate my Direct Card?

The card is sent inactive for security reasons, but in 3 simple steps, you can activate it.

Step 1: Make sure you have your card at hand so that we can identify you. Physically or in BT Pay.

Step 2:Call 021 308 4000, Monday to Friday, press 0, then press 1. The automated system will guide you step by step; you just need to select the “card activation” option and the card will be activated within 30 minutes.

Step 3: After activating your card in the Interactive Menu, go to any BT ATM and perform a balance inquiry to also activate your card's contactless feature.

If you are shopping in a store, there is no need to look for a BT ATM; you can make your purchases by inserting your physical card into the POS and manually entering the PIN code received via SMS.

Do you have a preferred PIN code?No problem, go to any BT ATM, select "Change PIN" on the screen, and then you can enter your preferred code.
